LOTD, learning Korean, new dress!

For my birthday I asked for Rosetta Stone: Korean (levels 1 & 2) from my parents.  I just started using it a few days ago, and I've been using it a little over an hour every day so far.


I'm going to Korea in May with my fiance to meet his parents!  I hope I can hold basic conversations with them in Korean by then.   I'll keep you updated on my progress!

Anyhowwww I'm having a late birthday party/practice bachelorette party this Saturday.  One of my friends is home in Michigan from Korea, and another friend is driving up from Kentucky and I'm sooo excited to see them!  The theme is "Pretty in Pink"  (LOL I did not pick the theme) so everyone has to wear PINK!

Tae (aka fiance, I don't use his name often on blog) got me this dress for my party (even though he's not invited!)  In general it's not my style, but it fits the "pink theme" and is super flattering on ;)

So here is a LOTD from Saturday night.  I was going out to meet some friends for cocktails, so I did some dark "evening eyes."  Haaaaaa.

I don't feel like listing the products unless you want to know what any of them are specifically, then I'll let you know!

Also, the fingernail polish I'm wearing in my "Asian Survival Kit" post is called "Off With Her Red" by OPI and it's GREAT.  I got it for $3 and it's the perfect matte red.  I've had it on for almost 2 full weeks and it still looks great!

Today I am 24.

Today is my birthday!  I'm going to spend the day with my fiance: a little shopping, a little eating, and a little wine.  Sounds good to me!

I'm feeling pretty... elderly...

A random guy at the bar who kept kissing my hand bought $400 worth of champagne for me/my friends.  We all had our own bottles... but mine was the most expensive one of COURSE.  :P  Then he shook one of the bottles and got a bunch of people soaked in champagne and promptly got kicked out!  It was pretty excellent.

A year ago I was 23!

3 of my best friends!  Michelle, Choua, and Stacey.  Do any of you recognize one of them?  Cuz you should!  Hehehe she's gonna kill me when she sees this.  Hey, you might even recognize 2 of them... ;)

"Asian Survival Kit" and FOTD!

Sorry I've been MIA.  I have no excuse for it.  Now that's covered!

I have some fun pictures to post!  First I want to show you all a Christmas present I got from Verina in Singapore!  She calls it the "Official Asian Survival Kit" and I love it!  I've never tried any asian makeup/beauty products before, and she even included circle lenses!  THANK YOU VERINA!  I  love everything!

Unfortunately it's not packaged as cute as it was originally, because my fiance picked it up from the post office and opened it before I got to do so (I gave him the OK).  I'm sure he ate half the candy before I even saw it, too!  :P

Perfect purse-size!  I've been using so much hand lotion to keep my hands pretty now that I've got  engagement bling!

Bought A Dress!

Haaaaaaa.  My mother wanted me to look for more dresses in Florida to be sure, but I told her,


 "I just want to be done with it [dress shopping]...."


We both agreed that this is the one, though.  

• It's going to take about 6 months for my dress to be made and shipped, but it is going to be like this one, except stark white, not ivory.  WHITE WHITE.  Like, even whiter than my skin (I know, hard to believe---right?).

• I am also going to have a seamstress do some custom straps-- thicker and incorporating some of the same lace as in the dress.  I think it will be much prettier than the spaghetti straps.  :D

• It is also going to be made in my size (the one in the pic is 2 sizes too large) so it will be very curvy on, if it doesn't look so curvy in these pics.

ANYWAY~~  Here it is in the ivory color.

Feedback requested!

I don't think I will be much of a "bridezilla."  I'd be down with other people making decisions for me, so long as they have reasonably good taste.

I will be dress shopping at a new store tomorrow, and I will post pictures of my favorite dresses from that store tomorrow evening.   Again, I'd love to hear what you think.  Even if its a comment like "Dress #2" or "They are all ugly."

That is all for now-- the remainder my night is dedicated to cleaning, which makes me entirely too happy! :D

Wedding dress shopping photossss

Wedding dress shopping today occupied all my time, so no closet organization/video walkthrough took place.

But equally exciting!  Pictures of some of the dresses I tried on today.

**Also, the writer of the book "The Last Lecture" happened to be at the wedding dress shop I was at today... apparently he's writing a new book about the room in which I was trying my dresses.  He took a bunch of notes on my relationship with my fiance, our names, and my mother's name and number because he might use our story in part of his book!  How cool would that be???  Completely random!

I look much larger in the pictures than I did in person (my mom insists she had her camera on the wrong setting because this is her first time using it) ... but supposedly the camera adds 10 lbs.  So... I need to lose 10 lbs. LOL.

No excuse for the hips though, stays curvy no matter how my weight fluctuates.

Here are a few things I tried on.  I have not purchased any of these dresses-- I'm going to be looking more seriously in Florida after Christmas.

My style is all over the place, I know!

This one might be a little too Vogue/fashion forward for me.  I don't like the back at all.. . it's got too much going on, but love the neck bead thing.

Head-to-toe Swarovski crystals... it's like the "DSK Jewelry Blinged-out dress!"  Lolz  almost a product placement.  THIS DRESS WAS SO HEAVY!

This would be a more traditional option.  It's hard to tell in these pics, but the bottom of the dress has very "natural" sparkles throughout.
